Economic and information security in the enterprise briefly
Modern economic realities are such that the conduct of any business necessarily involves risk. Moreover, any factors, events or actions that can be called a security threat can negatively affect the further development and establishment of the company, and even lead to a halt in its activities.
For these, a large-scale enterprise creates an economic security service, the main task of which is not just protection from bugs, but carrying out a number of measures aimed at creating the economic and information security of an enterprise.
These measures include:
organizing events aimed at preventing and identifying economic and financial violations and theft;
carrying out inspections of employees of the enterprise for violation of trade secrets and theft of property;
cooperation with the personnel department on personnel issues, including recruitment, training and relocation of personnel;
in cases of loss or theft of important documents, commercial secrets or other important official information, the conduct of the relevant investigation;
obstruction of transactions with unscrupulous partners on the basis of available information;
restriction of access of people and vehicles to the territory of the enterprise;
suppression of industrial espionage attempts, as well as personnel provocations aimed at obtaining confidential information from employees, which includes recording telephone conversations and discussions, protection against wiretapping, and much more;
distribution of information availability levels. Employees have access only to the information they need to work;
data encryption on computers;
lack of access to the Internet from work computers or access restrictions;
encouraging employees who have access to information important to the enterprise in order to prevent their transfer to competitors;
the presence of safes and restriction of access to a number of office spaces;
control over the removal of information (hard drives, flash drives) media from the enterprise;
setting a password for access to computers;
limiting access to files on the network within the enterprise;
the improvement of business practices in which there is an unequivocal domination of the enterprise among similar ones;
use of narrow specialization. Some employees take orders, others are looking for new customers, others fulfill orders;
actions aimed at team building in their local community. Holding corporate parties, special events, organizing a joint departure of employees to nature and holding vacations;
hiring employees who, for a number of reasons, will be denied employment with competitors or it will not be profitable for them;
creation of additional benefits and allowances for work experience in the enterprise;
development of regulations on trade secrets, as well as its subsequent implementation in the enterprise.
But since the content of the service requires large financial investments for the maintenance of the staff, the purchase of new information systems and programs, many people reject this idea. In this situation, there is a way out for small enterprises that can use the services of companies providing relevant services.
Whichever option is chosen by the head, the main thing is that with proper implementation of measures to protect information and economic security, the owners of the company can be confident in the safety of commercial secrets, in the absence of theft or any other harm to the company.
