The word “bank” is borrowed from Italian, it means “table” or “shop”. In Italy, money changers laid out money in various cities and countries for exchange. Later money changers took money from merchants to save money, and also used their own funds to issue loans and receive interest.
Although Switzerland is currently the country of banks, the first bank was founded in Venice around 1584. This was due to maritime trade routes passing there. Continue reading
The tradition of playing the lottery is a legacy of distant centuries. Draw lots in ancient Greek myths. And in Thailand and today, the duration of military service is determined by drawing lots. The idea was developed during the era of the Han dynasty in China. The emperor was brought paper with numbers and the lord marked arbitrary numbers. Residents tried to guess the numbers correctly. From there, with silk and other goods, “papers of happiness” migrated to the Mediterranean, taking advantage of particular popularity in ancient Rome. There the lottery received its current name.
